Prior To Injection
1. You should inject Somatropin also called HGH. An insulin syringe of 1 cc capacity U 100 as per choice of syringe should be used. The area should be thoroughly sterilized. You can sterilize the region with a swab of alcohol.
2. HGH or reconstituted Somatropin should be refrigerated throughout. Always reconstitute and make sure to use a single vial at one time. Once the vial is taken out of refrigeration, it should be at room temperature no longer than 2-3 minutes. The dosage should be extracted from the vial. Never refreeze this vial. Instead, refrigerate it and use it within a span of 14 days.
3. Always use a dry and clean area for work.
4. Make sure to keep all supplies handy.
a. Medication
b. Disposable syringes and needles, which have been sterilized
c. A disposal container, which is puncture-proof
d. Cotton balls or alcohol pads as well as a bottle containing rubbing alcohol

Before you prepare the medication, make sure to wash hands thoroughly.
How To Prepare The Injection
Take out the vial and then clean the stopper made of rubber using the alcohol swab. Make sure to remove syringe caps. This way you can see plunger. Remove the cap colored orange and keep the cap handy because before disposing syringe and needle, you would need to cap off the needle. Once you have removed the cap, the needle will be exposed. Ensure to push down the syringe plunger completely inside. This is important to ensure no air is present inside the syringe. When you push down the plunger totally, all air will be removed completely. It will also help create a vacuum to help you extract the medication quantity as the medicine is sucked into syringe. Hold the vial and place it upside down. Use your other hand to push in the needle right through the stopper inside the lower portion of bottle. Next, pull the plunger out. This ensures the medication is drawn completely into syringe. Make sure to eliminate any air. Then cap the bottle and then recap the needle with the orange cap you had kept aside. Then keep the needle aside. Now, you will prepare the region for the injection. Always ensure to check the prescription to see recommended dosage.

The Injection
Make sure to choose the area where you will be injecting the medication. This should be a region with fat in between muscle and skin. This layer is known as subcutaneous layer. The areas of the body having subcutaneous layers include the:
- Upper thighs
- Buttocks
- Abdomen (excluding waistline or navel region)
1. If you are lean do not use abdomen for injecting
2. Never use the same regions to inject medication all the time
3. Make sure to rotate injection regions regularly. The distance from current to last injection region should be at least 1.5 inches apart. You can keep a diary to note down where the last injection was administered. This will ensure you do not give another shot in the same region before a decent time interval
4. Select the region for injection and then clean the area for a distance of 2 inches. Use cotton ball or alcohol pad with alcohol in it
5. Make sure the skin has dried
6. Remove the cap of the needle
7. Pinch a small fold of the skin in between the index finger and thumb
8. Hold syringe in a manner like you hold pencils or darts. Then insert the needle at 45 or 90 degree angle to the skin, which you had pinched. Make sure the needle gets covered by the skin totally. This should be done quick so that there is minimal discomfort
9. Hold syringe using one hand and push down plunger to make sure medication is injected. Press down the plunger through the end
10. Remove needle and hold down alcohol pad dipped with alcohol over the area. Never rub
11. Make sure to put back the orange cap on top of the needle. Immediately place needle and syringe into disposal bin
